during november 13-15, 2018, africa com was grandly held in the cape town international convention centre. africa com, the most influential communication technology exhibition in the african region. this year’s exhibition, which also held advanced seminars the corresponding period, demonstrated and shaped africa's digital future, attracted 14000 participants, 450 speakers and 400 exhibitors all over the world.
at this exhibition, hengtong showcased a number of products and solutions including the peace project, transoceanic communication systems, ocean observation solutions, offshore oil platforms and offshore wind power solutions, air-blown micro cable solutions and fttx solution. hengtong attracted vodacom, mtn, orange, liquid and other african operators, as well as china telecom, huawei and other chinese enterprises, representatives of which exchanged ideas on much-talked-about topics and shared latest achievements of the industry. operators in south africa, kenya, france, saudi arabia, somalia and other countries paid great attention to and expressed their strong desire to cooperate with peace project, which was showed in africa com for the first time.
the full name of peace is pakistan & east africa connecting europe. it is 12,000 km long and will connect the three most populous continents in the world: asia, africa and europe. the project officially launched marine survey on 15 january 2018, entered cable and equipment production in october 2018, and will provide commercial services in the first quarter of 2020. based on the common vision of mutual trust, cooperation and win-win, as well as the design concept of creating an open system, hengtong and its partners are committed to better providing convenient, efficient, high-quality, neutral bandwidth services to customers.

berbatov light rail in ethiopia's capital, built by hengtong's power transmission system, officially opened in september 2015, making ethiopia the first country in east africa to open modern light rail transport.
in december 2015, 500 kv power transmission project from nile revival dam to ethiopia and kenya, which is the africa's largest power transmission and transformation project, was successfully completed , marking the beginning of an era of 500 kv voltage levels in ethiopia.
